The best pumpkin patches in Orange County for 2026 are Tanaka Farms in Irvine, Irvine Park Railroad in Orange, and Hana Field in Costa Mesa. Tanaka and Hana let you pick pumpkins off the vine. Irvine Park Railroad pairs the patch with a classic train ride.
This guide ranks eight OC pumpkin patches open this October, from farm fields to carnival lots. I checked each official site for 2026 dates, hours, prices, and reservation rules.
Most patches run through October 31. Tanaka Farms and Hana Field stay open through November 1.
Budget for more than the gate. Parking, activity tickets, and the pumpkin itself usually cost extra.

1. Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch

Tanaka Farms is the pumpkin patch I name first for Orange County. It is a working family farm in Irvine, so the pumpkins grow in real fields.
The 2026 season runs September 12 through November 1. Admission covers wagon rides, the barnyard, and the u-pick veggie patch.
Games and the famous pumpkin cannon run Friday afternoons and weekends. Weekdays feel calmer and work better with toddlers.
Hours, prices, and reservations
October hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday through Sunday, the farm stays open until 9 p.m., with last entry an hour before close.
Reservations are required. Posted 2026 pricing runs about $23 on weekdays and $27 on Friday afternoons and weekends, with kids 2 and under free.
Weekend visits need a $12 parking pass. Pumpkins are sold by the pound, so let kids pick a size you can carry.
Find the farm at 5380 3/4 University Dr, Irvine, CA 92612. Book through the Tanaka Farms pumpkin patch page, and check our Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch event listing for quick dates.
This is my pick when you want the real farm version of a pumpkin patch in OC, not a parking-lot carnival.
2. Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch

Irvine Park Railroad runs the most nostalgic pumpkin patch in Orange County. It sits right behind the train station inside Irvine Regional Park in Orange.
Kids ride the little train or a wagon, then hit the patch. Activities include a hay maze, a mild haunted house, cookie decorating, and John Deere racers.
The 2026 season runs September 12 through October 31. The park around it adds the OC Zoo, paddle boats, and bike rentals.
Weekday free entry versus weekend reservations
Weekdays are the smart play. The patch opens 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and entry needs no reservation.
Weekends open at 8 a.m. Through October 31, weekend entry requires a $16 to $22 reservation that includes one train or wagon ride.
Activity tickets cost $8 each, or $100 for a book of 15. The county also charges $3 to $7 per car to enter the park.
Drive to 1 Irvine Park Rd, Orange, CA 92869. Get current rules on the Irvine Park Railroad pumpkin patch page.
I send families here when the train ride matters as much as the pumpkin.
3. Hana Field Pumpkin Patch

Hana Field is Tanaka Farms’ second patch, and it is a separate site in Costa Mesa. You get pumpkins fresh off the vines plus a flower field you can pick from.
The big draw is the Jurassic Fright Corn Maze. Life-size dinosaurs hide among the stalks, which makes it the best corn maze pick on this list.
Admission also covers wagon rides and the barnyard. Optional extras include a cow train and a pumpkin blaster.
Opening deal and cashless rules
Hana Field runs October 3 through November 1, Wednesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Last entry is 5 p.m.
Through October 16, admission is $23 every open day with free parking. After that, it is $23 Wednesday and Thursday and $27 Friday through Sunday.
Weekend parking then runs $12 per car. The site is fully cashless, and reservations are required.
Enter from Anton Boulevard at 427 Anton Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Book on the Hana Field pumpkin patch page.
Dog owners should circle October 10. That is the Pumpkins & Pups day.
4. The Pumpkin Patch in Placentia

The Pumpkin Patch in Placentia celebrates its 50th season in 2026. It bills itself as Southern California’s oldest pumpkin patch, established in 1976.
This is the best-value pumpkin patch in Orange County. Adults pay $2, kids get in free, and parking is free.
Inside, kids can pet and feed chicks, ducklings, piglets, lambs, and goats. They can also drive small John Deere tractors with staff help.
Opening day and hours
The 2026 season opens Wednesday, October 7. Hours run 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 4 to 10 p.m. Friday.
Saturdays run 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays run 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The patch is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Carnival games, inflatables, hamster balls, gold panning, and face painting cost extra. Pets are not allowed.
Map it to 300 Yorba Linda Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870. Check updates on The Pumpkin Patch official site.
I point North County families here when they want old-school charm without a $25 gate.
5. Pumpkin City

Pumpkin City is the South County harvest festival at Laguna Hills Mall. It mixes thousands of pumpkins with kiddie rides, game booths, a petting zoo, and gem mining.
Adults get a reason to stay, too. The Oktoberfest Beer Garden pours beers including Brewery X, with brats and pretzels on the menu.
Live entertainment runs every day. That makes evening visits feel more like a small fair than a pumpkin stop.
Free weekday afternoons
The lot is open October 1 through 31. Hours are 12:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Admission is free Monday through Friday before 4 p.m. Otherwise, it costs $10 for kids 12 and under and $14 for adults.
Parking is free. Rides and games use tickets at $1.70 each, with discounted packs.
Look behind Trader Joe’s at 24203 Avenida de la Carlota, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Hours and ticket packs live on the Pumpkin City pumpkin farm page.
This is my South County answer for a weeknight patch with a beer for the grown-ups.
6. Mr. Jack O’ Lanterns Pumpkins

Mr. Jack O’ Lanterns sets up its Brea pumpkin patch on State College Boulevard. Admission is free at every location, and parking is free too.
The Brea lot has a petting zoo, animal feeding, bounce houses, and an inflatable obstacle course. Little kids also love the John Deere tractor rides.
There is a pumpkin decorating station, photo setups, and candy corn hole. Leashed dogs are welcome here, which is rare on this list.
Jack O’ Pass and hours
The 2026 season runs October 2 through November 1. Hours generally run from noon into the evening, with earlier Saturday openings.
Monday through Thursday, the Jack O’ Pass bundles unlimited games and activities. It also includes a mini pumpkin and one decorating session, but not tractor rides.
Find it at 480 N State College Blvd, Brea, CA 92821. Confirm hours on the Mr. Jack O’ Lanterns locations page.
I pick Brea when the dog is coming and nobody wants to pay a gate fee.
7. The Pumpkin Factory at MainPlace

The Pumpkin Factory takes over a MainPlace Mall parking lot in Santa Ana each October. Its pumpkins are grown on the operator’s own family farm.
Expect rides, games, food, and a petting zoo. It is a central OC option close to the 5 freeway.
Free midweek nights
The patch runs October 2 through 31. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
It is closed Monday and Tuesday, except Columbus Day on October 12. Admission is free Wednesday and Thursday and $5 Friday through Sunday.
Kids 2 and under always enter free, and parking is free. Rides, games, food, and pumpkins cost extra.
Head to 2800 N Main St, Santa Ana, CA 92705. Details sit on the Pumpkin Factory MainPlace page.
This is my after-work pick for Santa Ana, Orange, and Tustin families.
8. Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch at OC Fair & Event Center

Seasonal Adventures runs a carnival-style pumpkin patch in Lot C at the OC Fair & Event Center. It has mechanical rides, inflatable slides, an obstacle course, a petting zoo, and a train.
Pumpkins and squash come from Great Pacific Pumpkin, a farm in Ventura. You can also grab scarecrows, cornstalks, and straw bales for the porch.
One price, no ride tickets
Admission is $25 per person, and kids under 2 are free. Unlike most lots, this location needs no extra ride tickets.
Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 4 to 10 p.m. Friday. Saturdays run 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The patch closes at 7 p.m. on October 31. Parking is free Monday through Thursday and $15 Friday through Sunday. Pets are not allowed.
Use the fairgrounds entrance at 88 Fair Dr, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. See the Seasonal Adventures OC Fairgrounds page and the OC Fair & Event Center listing.
I like it for kids who want to ride everything without a ticket math headache.
